Marine Biology Center

Located at Cocoon Maldives, the Oceanico Maldives Marine Biology Center is dedicated to marine conservation, coral restoration, research and environmental education in the Maldives.

Equipped with the latest marine research and laboratory equipment, the center is managed by marine biologists and marine experts who actively monitor and protect the surrounding reef ecosystems. The team focuses on coral propagation and coral nursery projects designed to support reef rehabilitation and promote the long-term sustainability of marine life around the island.

Guests have the opportunity to learn about the Maldives’ unique underwater world through interactive presentations, guided snorkeling experiences, coral adoption programs and educational marine activities. From coral reefs and sea turtles to manta rays and reef sharks, the center helps visitors gain a deeper understanding of marine biodiversity and ocean conservation.

Our marine biologists also guide guests on nature and island tours around Cocoon Maldives, sharing educational insights about tropical trees, island vegetation, birdlife, marine animals and the delicate ecosystem that makes the Maldives so unique.

Beyond guest experiences, the Marine Biology Center also supports environmental awareness and educational programs for the local community, encouraging future generations to understand, appreciate and protect the ocean and its fragile ecosystems.

By combining science, conservation, education and guest interaction, the Oceanico Maldives Marine Biology Center creates meaningful experiences while contributing to the protection and restoration of the Maldives’ extraordinary marine environment.
